Chicago native H.A.N.K, practically came into this world with a beat in his heart and a groove in his feet. No literally, he started playing drums at the age of 3 and has never looked back. Although gifted to play drums, his focus was primarily on sports through his adolescent, teenage years. It wasn’t until his senior year of high school that his passion for music took the wheel and steered him into a completely different direction.
At the age of 20, H.A.N.K packed his bag and departed the windy city and headed to the city of angels, where he would study drum performance at the Musicians Institute in Hollywood. Looking to make a splash in the music industry, he did just that and within six months of being in L.A, landed his first major gig, manning the drum chair for jazz legends Stanley Clarke and George Duke.
The Clarke/Duke opportunity quickly prepared him for the new world he was entering in as a touring musician. He got a hands on experience, learning from living legends who were doing what he’ always dreamed of doing at the highest level. H.A.N.K spent a year traveling the world with the Clarke/Duke Band up to the unfortunate passing of jazz legend, George Duke.
Immediately following the Clarke/Duke gig, H.A.N.K received the opportunity to play drums for major hip hop recording artist, Big Sean. Since 2013 to present day, he has traveled the world playing some of the world’s biggest venues, festivals, tv shows and more.
In 2017, H.A.N.K stumbled into the realm of songwriting and music production. Like drumming, his passion for the more creative aspect of music grew rapidly. He began to work tirelessly towards writing songs, producing music and learning new instruments, all while creating a vision for what the next steps of his music career would look like.
Fast forward to today, now a multi-instrumentalist, H.A.N.K has stepped outside of his comfort zone and has fully embraced his place as an artist. He is coming into his own and is ready to share his music with the rest of the world.
